Do you ever wake up already feeling tired, with heavy muscles, or struggling to focus, and just brush it off with a simple “I’m just a little stressed”?
Very often, what we consider to be normal daily fatigue hides a specific and definitely underestimated biological problem: iron deficiency.
The numbers speak for themselves: it is estimated that this deficiency affects between 25% and 50% of women of childbearing age, practically one in two, and often presents with common symptoms that are, however, at risk of being underestimated or attributed to the hectic pace of daily life.
To raise awareness of this issue and turn prevention into concrete action, IBSA Italy and Almafarmacie joined forces across the country in celebration of Mother’s Day. The initiative allowed over 1,000 women to take a free ferritin test in more than 70 Italian pharmacies, offering not only a quick screening but also a valuable opportunity to learn how to listen to their bodies’ signals and stop putting off their own well-being.
