Eighth Sustainability Report: IBSA consolidates its journey through transparency and responsibility

Sustainability is not a goal to be achieved, but an ongoing journey that requires vision, responsibility and, above all, transparency.

These core principles underpin IBSA’s eighth Sustainability Report, which covers the results achieved in the 2025 financial year. It was a significant year for the company, which celebrated 40 years of Arturo Licenziati’s leadership, who passed away in May 2026 after guiding the Group for four decades with dedication and foresight.

The Report details how sustainability continues to guide the company’s strategies and activities, through an increasingly structured, long-term approach.

EUROPEAN REGULATIONS AND CORPORATE CULTURE

In an international context marked by uncertainty and a slowdown in the implementation of European ESG directives, IBSA has confirmed its commitment to voluntarily align with the ESRS (European Sustainability Reporting Standards), anticipating regulatory developments and adopting criteria that make reporting more reliable, transparent and comparable.

In 2025, IBSA further consolidated its Governance model, stronger integrating ESG principles into strategic business decisions. This evolution is reflected in the Group’d new Sustainability Policy and the increasingly central role played by the Corporate Sustainability and Asset Management department.

The same consolidation process has extended to risk management and corporate culture.  In 2025, IBSA launched its new Global Declaration on Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DE&I), initiated a comprehensive ESG risk assessment, and strengthened its overall Enterprise Risk Management framework.

On the technological side, IBSA introduced a Group-wide policy for the secure and regulated use of Artificial Intelligence, alongside an enhanced cybersecurity systems and data protection measures.

COMMITMENT TO PEOPLE AND THE COMMUNITY

The IBSA Foundation for scientific research – the main promoter of IBSA’s corporate social responsibility initiatives – continued its valuable commitment in supporting education and research. Key actions in 2025 included funding medical-scientific scholarships for students at the Università della Svizzera Italiana (USI) in Lugano, as well as six Fellowships worth EUR 32,000 each for young researchers under 40 from universities and research centres worldwide.

IBSA’s dedication to local communities was also brought to life through its corporate volunteering programme, with employees dedicating approximately 1,000 hours to third-sector associations

Furthermore, the Group's dedication to social inclusion was championed by the inclusive sailing project "Sailing into the Future. Together", which was awarded with “The Prize” in the Diversity, Inclusion & Sustainability category.

The growth of IBSA continues to rely on contribution of its people. In 2025, professional development received a significant boost from the newly established IBSA Academy.  In its first year of activity, the Academy proved to be a key tool dedicated for continuous skills development and nurturing internal talent.

Its focus on the human aspect and on employee welfare has enabled IBSA to be recognized among the Leading Employers 2025 in Switzerland. Additionally, the company’s attention to occupational health and safety was validated by ISO 45001 certification for its Italian manufacturing sites in Lodi and Cassina de’ Pecchi.

COMMITMENT TO THE ENVIRONMENT

IBSA’s commitment to the environment has translated into tangible projects aimed at preserving natural resources. Among the most significant achievements of 2025 was the approval of the first photovoltaic plant at Cosmos, the Group’s main production site in Switzerland. Feasibility studies have also been launched to extend renewable energy generation to the Italian facilities.

This focus on the responsible use of resources is further reflected by a major packaging optimization project. By reducing the grammage of the paper and cardboard used for secondary packaging, IBSA is on track to save up to 37 tonnes of paper per year in 2026.

SUSTAINABILITY AS AN ENGINE FOR THE FUTURE

The eighth Sustainability Report tells the story of a year of transformation and shared responsibility. The milestones achieved in 2025 demonstrate IBSA’s determination to merge innovation, environmental care, and social commitment into a unified growth vision – one combining industrial progress with positive social impact, whilst looking to the future with responsibility and concrete action.
