Personal plans and financial stability are some of the factors that can lead women today to postpone motherhood. Life’s timeline, however, does not always align with biological timing. These reflections also inspired “PreSERVE YOUR FUTURE – Protect Your Reproductive Health” an awareness campaign on Assisted Reproductive Technology (ART), promoted with an unconditional contribution from IBSA Italy. Through a medical van touring five Italian cities, the campaign will offer young women, between 25 and 35, the opportunity to undergo a free AMH test to assess their ovarian reserve, along with an information and counseling session aimed at promoting greater awareness of their reproductive health.
The initiative is organized under the aegis of the Italian Ministry of Health, with the support of three scientific societies — SIFES (Italian Society of Fertility and Infertility), SIdR (Italian Society of Reproduction), and SIRU (Italian Society of Human Reproduction)—and a scientific board composed of five experts in reproductive medicine: Alberto Vaiarelli, Giovanna Sighinolfi, Francesca Papini, Roberta Venturella, and Annalisa Liprino. These specialists contributed to the development of the campaign and the creation of an informational document covering the main aspects of reproductive health, from prevention to assisted reproductive technologies (ART), as well as the meaning and correct interpretation of the anti-Müllerian hormone (AMH) test. Understanding how one’s body works, age-related changes, and factors that can affect fertility helps individuals make better informed decisions regarding a potential pregnancy.
