“Tra il (D)ire e il fare”: IBSA Italy's new campaign on the importance of vitamin D

IBSA Italy launches “Tra il dire e il fare”, an innovative project created with the patronage of Borghi più Belli d'Italia, a journey that recounts the wonders of our country and, at the same time, provides information on the importance of vitamin D

The project aims to promote a healthy, active, and conscious lifestyle, showing how health is intertwined with the culture and excellence of Italian regions.

The journey begins in beautiful Maruggio, a seaside village in Puglia. Here we meet Raffaella, who shows us the local sights and tells us about her experience with low vitamin D levels.

The episode highlights the importance of getting at least 15 minutes of sun exposure every day and including vitamin D-rich foods typical of the area, such as green oil and local products, in your diet. With its traditions and cuisine, Maruggio offers a perfect example of how nutrition, nature, and culture can promote physical and psychological well-being.

The second stop is the beautiful medieval village of Monteverde, in Alta Irpinia. The star of the episode is Antonio, a handyman who is always on the go and who, through sport and an active lifestyle, promotes the role of vitamin D in everyday life.

In this clip, we also discover the delights of the area, such as local produce, craft beer, and other traditional ingredients that form the basis of Monteverde's typical dishes.

Halfway through their journey, Giorgia and Mario find themselves in the heart of Emilia, surrounded by unique flavors and colors. In Montechiarugolo, a village rich in culture and gastronomic traditions, they meet Fiorella, secretary and caregiver to her elderly father, who explains how important vitamin D is for bone health, especially during his recent period of convalescence in bed.

There is also a well-deserved focus on local delicacies such as Parmigiano Reggiano cheese, tortelli with herbs, wine from the hills, and Parma ham, flagship products of Italy's Food Valley.

The journey continues along the Ligurian Sea, in Laigueglia, a village that stands out for the commitment of wellness, medicine, and sports professionals in promoting a healthy and balanced lifestyle.

It is the perfect place to talk about post-menopause, which we do with Mara, a sportswoman and real estate agent with a passion for aqua walking, which helps her to incorporate vitamin D into her daily routine. Local traditions, sporting activities, and a mild climate make Laigueglia the perfect village for taking care of your health.

The fifth stop takes us to Clusone, in the Upper Seriana Valley, a village surrounded by woods and art, where we meet Carlo, a former manager who decided to change his life, leaving behind stress and hectic schedules to devote himself to woodworking.

Here, slow living and attention to health are at the center of daily life and valuable allies of vitamin D and a conscious lifestyle. A symbol of this slower pace of life is the village's monumental clock, a masterpiece of ingenuity and culture, and a symbol of Clusone's history and traditions.

The journey ends in beautiful San Gemini, a village famous for its mineral waters and calcium-rich springs. Here we discover the story of Ennio, a vintage amateur photographer and retired postman who, since suffering an injury, has been taking care of his bones by supplementing his diet with vitamin D and calcium.

The episode also explores the close connection between the environment, natural waters, and well-being, highlighting how local resources can support a healthy and active lifestyle for everyone.

The project also included interviews with some of the most important doctors in Italy, with whom we explored many topics related to vitamin D: from the contribution of this vitamin to our body to the concept of hypovitaminosis D and its association with various conditions.

With “Tra il (D)ire e il fare”, IBSA Italy confirms its commitment to supporting the importance of vitamin D, promoting a healthy, active, and conscious lifestyle, in which health, nutrition, and daily well-being are integrated with the cultural and natural excellence of Italian territories.
